Gender Ultrasound - 16 weeks!

After getting a sneak peek on Valentine's Day, I decided that there was NO way I could wait 6 more weeks until finding out the sex of Baby Peanut. So, I called Little Wonders and scheduled an elective ultrasound. I think that maybe God was testing us or playing games with us because we had to reschedule a few times due to Darin's work schedule and then when we finally got a date that worked, a huge snow storm was supposed to hit overnight the night before our appointment! I got a call around 1:30 the day before letting me know that they may need to reschedule if it's too bad because they lived out of town. I was so bummed and just prayed that the weather Gods would be nice to us.

The whole night the night before, I had dreams that it snowed many FEET and I got calls and texts letting me know we had to reschedule. The first thing I did when I woke up was run to the window to assess the damage. To my satisfaction, it snowed, but not near as bad as they had anticipated. But, as I was getting ready for work, my phone rang and it was one of the ultrasound techs! My heard just sank, but I answered. Luckily, she just wanted to tell me that she would be a little late, so we only had to push it back by a half hour. YAY!!!!

At work, I could hardly contain myself. Luckily, I only had to be there for a few hours before I could leave. Darin and Jameson met me there and I was bursting at the seams. She took us back to the room and it was beautiful! There was a bed for me to lay on and the decor was gorgeous. The best part was my sweet little Jameson was so cute and happy to be there! He was such a doll. He came and sat by me and held my hand and just kept saying, "hi mommy!". So adorable! Once she put the probe on my belly, I could instantly see our little peanut...dancing around as usual! And, with a few movements of the probe, I saw what I needed to see! I knew right away that our guess at the 14 week ultrasound was correct and that we were looking at our little GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

Jameson kept giggling as he looked at the screen and would say, "that's silly!". Which to him, it was definitely silly! He eventually got down to play with some toys with Darin and I just laid back and watched my sweet little princess break dance on her head! She was upside down the whole time bouncing on her head...hilarious! We didn't get any real good 3D shots because of this, but we were able to get what we wanted and it was amazing to get to just sit back and watch her. HER...OMG, it's a SHE!!!!!

As we left the appointment, I gave Jameson a big hug in his car seat and then gave Darin and big hug and kiss. At that point, I think it really hit me that we are having a baby girl and I am not going to lie, it is kind of a scary thought since I am so used to BOY! But, it is also the most exciting thing and I absolutely cannot wait. The cutest was Jameson kept repeating "baby sister" and it just makes my heart melt to think of the two of them together...is it August yet?!!?

It's a girl!

15 Weeks!

Still feeling pretty good. The flutters are becoming more persistant and more noticeable. Overall, I am feeling really good. The exhaustion and insomnia mix is really the only bothersome symtom that is still lingering. Other than that, I feel like a million bucks and am thankful for each day that this pregnancy progresses. Can't wait to see the baby again - tomorrow!!

14 Weeks! Time for the Big Announcement...maybe!

Well, whoever guessed I would make it 4 weeks until the next ultrasound was wrong! I ended up going in after 3 weeks because we had some conflicts with the following week. Just so happens that we got to go on Valentine's Day, which also happened to be the day I wanted to tell the rest of the world! I was nervous simply because I wanted to make sure everything was OK and healthy with the baby. I had been feeling very faint flutters for a few weeks (and I mean very faint), so I knew he/she was perfectly OK in there. But, just wanted to make sure baby was growing correctly.

It was amazing to see him/her again, as always. He/she had grown so much!  And, was just as active as ever, confirming my thoughts that I had felt movement! Every time he/she moved, I could feel the slightest flutter. So amazing! Wendy measured everything and looked at everything carefully and said that for this stage, everything looked perfect. HUGE relief and just one more hurdle we had crossed. I was sooo very excited to be able to spill the beans now and what better day to do it than Valentine's Day! We may have also gotten a sneak peek at the baby's goods....but we are remaining mum on that until confirmation!

In early August
We will welcome number 2!

He doesn't look so excited, but I swear he is!!
