20 Weeks!!

Our anatomy scan was originally scheduled for next week, but I am also scheduled for a Level II ultrasound in Peoria at 22 weeks and I thought it would be better if we could maybe move it up, so they weren't so close together. Of course, Dr. Santiago obliged again! Even though I had seen our little girl a million times, I was still so nervous for this visit. This is where they check everything to make sure there are no visible issues and that everything is growing correctly.

During this scan, they typically don't turn on the TV to let you watch in the beginning because the tech has to do the big measurements and whatnot. But, B turned the TV on after awhile and we got to see our bouncing baby girl dancing again. I tried really hard not to drink or eat anything that would cause her to be a maniac, but she was ready to move! Made it slightly difficult for her to do some of the measurements, but she got everything she needed and said Peanut looked great.

During the ultrasound, we got to see her open and shut her mouth and eyes - so cool! And, she had the hiccups! It was so cute! She was not a fan of getting pushed on the bottom though. I had asked to get a "potty shot" so that we could be 100% sure it was still a girl, but she wanted nothing to do with that! She kept flipping over and at one point, opened her mouth REALLY wide almost as if she was yelling at us! But, even in the middle of all the moving, we got some pretty good shots and confirmed that SHE is still a SHE! She was weighing 11 ounces and measuring 2 days ahead.

We met with the doc after as usual and he also told us all looks good. The placenta has moved even more and it is just low lying at this point. Not that it will probably make a huge deal since my chances of a c-section are quite high! But, it would be comforting to know that it's out of the way...plus I am dying to get exercising again!

I cannot wait until our Level II ultrasound. It'll be a lengthy one and we will hopefully get some good pictures. Continuing to pray that this little peanut is healthy and perfect and that they don't find anything wrong. Until then, I am going to enjoy all the dancing that is happening in my belly - a feeling that I missed after I had my sweet little bean.

She's smiling!

18-19 Weeks

Nothing really exciting to report other than this little girl is a mover! I call her my little dancing queen because the movement is so frequent. I was rocking and snuggling with Jameson yesterday before nap time and when I was singing to him, she was poking him like crazy! I am sure it won't be long until he will be able to feel the jabs. Darin has yet to catch a jab because she typically stops when he tries to feel her - much like what her brother would do! I am so thankful she is active - helps ease my nerves so much and it is such a comforting feeling. Whenever I get nervous, she is always there with a jab to reassure me all is OK!!

17 Weeks: Another Ultrasound - This Time for Fun!

Last week, Stephanie at Dr. Santiago's called me to see if I would be interested in participating in a demo with some ultrasound equipment that they were interested in purchasing for their office. Um, sign me up please!! She told me that when they were asked to get a few people to participate, I was the first person to come to mind! I wasn't sure if I should be flattered that she thought of me first or embarrassed because they clearly know that I am a bit crazy :).

I was so excited that I would get to see my little peanut again. But, the issue was Darin was going to be out of town. At 17 weeks, I am fully able to feel her moving and can hear her heartbeat everyday if I want. But, the thought of going to an ultrasound, even a fun demo, is still terrifying for me. So, I called my Mom and asked if she would like to come with me. I figured it would be fun for us to be able to share that! I tried not to drink anything but water or eat anything sugary since Little Miss seems to be a dancer without the help of sugar! It worked well because she was pretty calm for the first 20 or so minutes. Then, it was time to party I guess because she started moving and stretching and flipping all over! t was so cool to be able to just sit back and watch her and to have my Mom there with me! They flipped it over to the 4D quite a bit and one of the shots we got, she looked like a little fairy or pixie! Mom decided that Pixie was a good nickname for her! We got to see her feet, long legs, her fingers and her cute little face! She obviously doesn't have a ton of fat at this point, so the 3D pictures are a little alien like, but cute nonetheless!

If getting to see my little rainbow for 30+ minutes with my Mom wasn't enough, the Dr.'s office also gave me a free 60 minute pregnancy massage! Cannot wait to use that later!

I also got to feel a jab from the outside of my stomach today. I put my hand on my belly and she started poking at it! I love that - it's such an amazing feeling.

It's A...

We decided to do a mini Gender Reveal photo session with Sarah Rogers Photography during Jameson's 2 year photo session just because I thought it would be a fun way to share the news with friends and non-immediate family! We had fun coming up with ideas and I was so thrilled with how they all turned out! Yay for Team Pink!!!

Love his little face here!

Gender Reveal Gathering with Family!

Well, since we didn't really have a big production for the pregnancy announcement, I decided it would be fun to get our families together for dinner and have an informal gender reveal party! Any excuse for me to host a party, right?! I bought cupcakes to make and planned on filling them with the appropriate color frosting. It was fun making them and made me more excited to share this amazing news!

I bought some blue and pink decorations to make it a little more fun and had the cupcakes just sitting out ready to be devoured. We ordered some pizza and chatted. I know it was killing my Dad to wait...and poor Rowan! She wanted to know so badly!! After dinner, we waited for Nicole to get there and then let everyone dig in. Watching them bite anxiously into the cupcakes was priceless and then seeing their reactions was the absolute best!! My Mom's reaction may have been the best! She thought it was a boy...partially because I could have sworn I saw boy parts at our 11 week ultrasound and had told my parents that! So, they were both shocked! Everyone was so happy and it was a great time. I had a blast preparing for it and then it was so fun getting to celebrate this with our families!

Boy or Girl?!

Hmm, what's inside?!

All the kids had a blast with my Dad!

Hoytie loves his Grandmas!

Gma Kim playing with the kiddos!

Captured the shock - even if it's blurry!

Dad is trying to read her reaction for a hint!

Oh the anticipation, lol!
