3D/4D Ultrasound - Little Clay Baby!

What an awesome birthday! Got to spend the whole day with my little man and then we got to see our little Pixie for over a half hour! We went to Little Wonders again (same place we did the Gender Ultrasound) and they are amazing! We invited our parents too, so it was awesome to share it with them! And, Big Brother Jameson got to come too and he was such a sweetheart. He was a little confused as to what the lady was doing with the ultrasound probe on my belly - he thought maybe I was getting my temperature taken on my belly! But, he thought it was pretty cool to see Baby Sister up on the screen - he would giggle when she would move. For the most part, he kept himself entertained with the toys in the room and the grandparents and didn't pay much attention to anything else! But, I love that he got to be there - even if he didn't fully understand what was happening.

As I mentioned in Jameson's post about the 3D/4D experience (http://dlweber.blogspot.com/2010/12/our-little-waxclay-baby.html), I think the whole 3D thing is honestly a little strange. The babies look like little clay/wax babies. However, for some reason when it is your own, it is simply amazing.   I could have stayed and watched her all night! She was moving from the second we got there until the second we left! She definitely put on a show - I was supposed to get 25-30 images on a Flashdrive and they gave me 200 because she was such a good girl!!  We got some awesome pictures of her face - we could really tell what she is going to look like. She has the cutest cheeks, just like big brother! And, her little nose and lips are so cute too. We all definitely saw a resemblance to Jameson, which is certainly a good thing since he is adorable :). Lacy (the woman doing the ultrasound) kept commenting how perfect she was - of course I agreed, but it was nice to hear it from her as well. She also mentioned how she thinks baby girl looks like me...guess we will see! I think it is only fair that one of my children looks like me :).  She has some long legs and fingers, which is no surprise! We also saw some little bumps on her head, which Lacy said could mean hair - I hope she has beautiful hair like her brother!! Toward the end of the appointment, she started to snuggle up and turn away from us, which meant that she was done performing! Maybe that means she will be a snuggler too!

Overall, it was an amazing experience - really made me connect with my sweet little girl and certainly made me more anxious and excited to meet her. I cannot wait to see how similar she looks when we meet her in 9-10 weeks!

Love this little profile! I think she looks like Baby Madison here!

Hello 3rd Trimester - 28 weeks!

Final stretch! Less than 11 weeks and we will be welcoming our baby girl! Seems like so far yet so VERY close. I had my 28 week appointment today. It was a loooong one! I got there at 7:30 and left around 10:15. We started with the ultrasound, which was a good way to start off the morning! Peanut looked good - I think we woke her up because her heart rate was 133, which is low for her, but once we started poking around, she was poking right back! She was spinning and pushing on the ultrasound probe! All looked good though - she is back to being head down. Wonder how many times that will change from now until D-Day!! She stuck her tongue out at us again...this has been a regular thing for her...wonder if she is going to be a little fireball!

After the ultrasound, I got my first blood draw and then drank the lovely glucose drink. Had to wait an hour and then got my blood drawn again and then waited another hour and got one final blood draw. Luckily, I brought my laptop and was able to catch up on some emails...and my phone kept me entertained as always. Praying the results are good and that I passed! While we were waiting in between the blood draws, I had my belly measured and it was measuring 29 weeks! So, in two weeks, it grew by 3 weeks! I knew she had a growth spurt! I also got my Rhogam shot. I have officially reached the week where I now am on the every two week schedule, which I pretty much have been since the beginning! I will have another ultrasound in two weeks and if Dr. S. is happy with everything he sees, I will probably have a break for 4 weeks and then will be on the weekly schedule with 2 non-stress tests and one ultrasound per week!! I know with Jameson, time flew once I got on that schedule, so I know it will go even faster this time around.

In other news, we got our nursery furniture! It was delivered to the UPS warehouse in Decatur, so Darin picked it up on Tuesday since he was in Decatur that day. It's currently housed in our garage, but I hope to get the room painted and furniture put together within the next month. I am anxious to get it all together so I can make/order the finishing touches as far as decor goes. One of the main focal points of the room is going to be her name above her crib...so if history repeats itself, we may not officially finish the room until AFTER she is born :). We have a short list of about 4 names, so fingers crossed we pick one soon. We asked Jameson what he thought we should name baby sister and his response was "slurrrrp" - he made a slurping noise with his mouth. He also offered Dora as a name. So, I think we will maybe pick one of the ones on our list instead! No Name Weber just doesn't have a very nice ring to it!!

28 weeks and growing!

Breakfast of Champions!

Battle wounds :(. 4 pricks total because the third
blood draw did not go well, ouch!

LOVE those chubby cheeks!

Smiling, gnawing on her hand and sticking out her tongue!

26 and 27 Weeks!

I had an ultrasound last week just to check on everything. Everything looked great and I even got the doctor to admit that the initial sighting that something was wrong must have been a fluke! I am still going to be monitored closely, but I was always going to be, so that's really not a surprise. Baby Girl looked great - she was breech. She wasn't breech 2 weeks before, so I am almost positive she will move a million times before D-Day! Even though the point is probably moot since I will most likely have another c-section anyway. She was also directly up and down my middle with her face down, which means the blob that I have felt sticking out around my belly button is her little bottom! She had her little legs tucked under her belly and her bottom up in the air. So cute! She also opened her mouth and stuck her tongue out at one point - looked like she was laughing! It also looks like the Peanut might have some chubby cheeks like her brother, yay! One of my favorite things to this day is kissing his little cheeks, so I can't wait to smother two babies with kisses!!

Overall, the past two weeks have been great as far as how I feel. I feel large, but I guess that is part of this journey!! My belly is actually measuring a week behind, which is hilarious to me because I feel like it's huge!! I guess when I lay down to get measured, it flattens or something! But, baby girl is measuring ahead still and everything else looks perfect! The only thing giving me some trouble is my back. I don't know if maybe she is resting on a nerve somewhere or if the big beach ball belly is already stressing out my back. And, the sleeping thing has been interesting...I switch sides about 100 times a night. A friend who is also pregnant put it nicely when she compared our sleeping habits to a rotisserie chicken...that is exactly how I feel each night...turn, turn, turn! BUT, again, I am not complaining, more so just documenting how I have been feeling these past two weeks. I go next week for my Glucose testing (blah!), my Rhogam shot (blah!) and another ultrasound (yay!). Fingers crossed I pass!!

25 Weeks and Nursery Sneak Peek!

25 weeks and feeling pretty good. I am still getting the tightening belly quite often that sometimes causes me to feel light headed and/or short of breath. But, better than last week and I even think my belly isn't quite as big! I have an appointment next week to check on everything and measure Peanut, so I am very much looking forward to seeing her again...I mean, it has been a whole week and a half since I have seen her and I am going through withdrawal!!

Another exciting development - Jameson was also able to feel his baby sister kick on April 17! Forgot to mention that in the last post. I have been feeling her kick at him when we rock at nap time/night time for quite some time, but I know he wasn't able to feel it. Well, one night, she was going bananas in my tummy (as usual!), so I asked him if he wanted to feel her and he happily said yes. I put his hand on my belly and sure enough, she started poking and kicking at him. He looked up at me and smiled an ear to ear smile! I asked if he felt it and he giggled and said, "baby sister is kicking me!'. Love it!

We also decided on the nursery decor and furniture! I actually ordered the furniture last night. I had a slight panic attack afterwards since I have been cautious about buying anything. But, I am so excited about decorating the nursery and figured I had better start now in case that dreaded bed rest word comes up again down the road! I saw this nursery design online in a blog about a year ago and fell in love. When I found out baby Peanut was a girl, I knew it's what we were going to do! I was able to design the bedding myself and am anxious to get it so I can order the wall decor and other accessories for the room! Even though Jameson didn't sleep in his room until 4 months, we still want to have the nursery done for the most part before she arrives - just makes things easier, especially with two kids!

25 weeks!

Sneak peek of the nursery fabric swatches! Can't wait
to pull it all together!

My amazing and talented Engineer husband created this scaled drawing of the
nursery and scaled movable pieces of furniture so that we could arrange the room
and make sure we loved the setup!
