Shocking, but I got a little behind on posting this month's update! So, I am going to get right to it - you are changing so quickly right before our eyes! You just love to take in everything around you and we can almost see the wheels turning inside that head! It's pretty cool to see and I just love watching you absorb it all. Your bright personality is definitely shining through and I can't wait to see it develop even more!
- You weigh 16 pounds 13 ounces and stayed right around 26 inches. You are in 6 and 9 month clothing and still in size 2 diapers.
- Your hair is definitely lightening up and thinning quite a bit. You also have these adorable curls that peek out sometimes. I would not be surprised if in a few months, you didn't have blonde curly hair coming through :). You also have a very faint stork bite along the bottom of your hairline in the back - just like Jameson! It's pretty hard to see and will most likely fade, but I think it's adorable.
- Your eyes are still a gorgeous blue. They almost look like glass sometimes - you are such a pretty little baby!
- Took 5 months, but you love your plug now! I am not sure if this is good or bad because you seem more attached than Jameson now! But, I am glad you have something else to help soothe you.
- You out of nowhere became fascinated by your hand. It is so funny and so adorable. You twist and turn it and just stare at it in awe.
- You can sit all by yourself now! I am so amazed at how fast you were able to do that! We still have to be around just in case you start to lean, but for the most part, you are good to go!
- You think the strangest things are funny...but I will do whatever it takes to elicit a good giggle out of you! Tickling your belly is almost a surefire way to get you to giggle!
- We were able to remove the pillow under the Jumperoo and you just LOVE it. That thing has probably been the best investment with as much use as we have gotten out of it with you and Jameson. You would probably spend hours in it if we let you! You have also figured out how to flip the pages and spin the duckies. Pretty impressive!
- We also hung the jumper that hangs on the door - you aren't real impressed, but it buys me some time to get ready in the morning should you wake up before I am done!
- You still love to be swaddled at night - you are starting to escape the swaddle on a nightly basis, but you still seem to favor being swaddled at night
- You just love throwing stuff off of your high chair! I do not remember it starting this early with Jameson, but I probably just pushed that out of my head!
- We had a handful of very rough nights - where you either didn't go to sleep until after midnight or where you woke up quite a few times. But, overall, you sleep 7-9 hours per night.
- You do like to wake up at the crack of dawn sometimes...and you just jabber away to yourself. You also will be laying in your bassinet and just start blowing raspberries out of nowhere. It is hysterical!
- And, you managed to figure out that you can reach the mobile, so I will be getting ready for work and look over and see your hands sticking out of the bassinet!
- You still favor being held for nap time. We try to lay you down, but only get a half hour or so out of you. If I hold you, you will sleep for 3 hours!!
- You like to hold onto something when you sleep. Ray got you a soft Baby Peanut elephant and you love holding onto it. You also like your taggie blankie.
- You also like to mash your head up against the side of the bassinet. We have actually watched you wiggle your way over there while completely asleep AND swaddled...pretty impressive!!
- We took the newborn insert out of the bath tub! You love to kick around in the water - it's so cute! You also can now take baths with Jameson and you love it! You smile at him the whole time.
- You love to listen to the Blues with Daddy during bath time or when it's time to go to sleep.
- You also fell asleep on Daddy's shoulder one night listening to No Quarter. Daddy said that you're definitely his little girl!
- It's a miracle, but you actually seem to enjoy the car now (thank you, God!!). It's still a little dicey sometimes on the way to and from Cooksville. But, overall, you are much better and it's so nice not to have you screaming the entire time you're in the car now!
- You have really started smacking your lips now. It is so adorable!
- You got Violet for Christmas and you just love to play with her! Both Scout and Violet have been a huge success with the Weber kids!
- You are such a mover...you hardly sit still. Whether it's kicking your legs or moving your arms, it's tough to keep you still! You can "gimme 5" and you love to bang the drums you got for Christmas with your flailing hands/arms! You also learned to "do the Ray"...hehehe!
- You love the crinkly books. And, you like when we read to you.
- You just LOVE to watch us eat - I swear sometimes you are going to dive and grab the food or drink out of my hands. You have been known to grab my plate or bowl and I have to react quickly in order to prevent a mess!
- Your gasping noise has become so exaggerated and it's so funny!!
- You are a jabber box! You just love to tell stories - I don't think we will have the whole "second child is quieter" dynamic in this household! You make some funny noises!
- You also love to smack your lips - it is so adorable and hilarious!!
- You and your brother have some great conversations, too! This video just melts my heart!!
- You scratched your cheek really badly with your fingernail. You basically took a chunk of skin off. I feel horrible because it looks like it's probably going to be a scar...but, hopefully it will fade over time.
- You had to go to the doc for your first non well-child checkup. You were so congested and started to develop a cough that concerned us. But, turns out you just had a bit of a scratchy throat and it was easily remedied with an oral steroid. That probably contributed to the few bad nights we had.
- You got to experience your first major snow and then your first major winter storm! We took you out in the first snow because it wasn't too cold. But, the second one was awful. -45 degree wind chill...so we stayed inside!!
- You just completely light up when you see people you know! Especially when they start talking to you. It is so incredibly heart warming and I can't help but smile when you do it. You have a very infectious smile and personality and it can totally light up the room!
- And, we all think the world of you...especially your brother :).
- I have to add one more little thing because it may have been one of the most heart warming things I have ever heard...I was in the kitchen and Daddy was talking to you as he was changing your diaper. He said that he can't wait to hear you say "dada" because his heart will just swell knowing that you will look at him as the first man you ever loved and who loved you back. Oh. My. Goodness. How sweet - you are a lucky little girl and the boys will have a lot to live up to :).
