I can finally say it - next month, I will be having a baby! Eek! So exciting...and a bit terrifying! Lots of stuff going on over these past two weeks - I will quickly update!
34 weeks: Heartburn/acid reflux back in full force! Braxton Hicks are constant. I am not sure if I felt this with Jameson and I just didn't realize it or what, but man, some of them take my breath away! Overall though, I am feeling fabulous!
- July 2: had my first biophysical ultrasound. Pixie did a great job until we had to "test" the breathing. It's funny because she was moving all over the place and kicking me, so it's not like we were worried. But, the breathing is always the hardest to catch, so we just kind of had to wait until we saw it or she started hiccuping. We finally caught her taking a big breath and then a few more, so she scored 8 out of 8 on the BPP. She weighed in at 5lb. 3oz...wow! After the BPP, I met with Dr. Santiago and it was a quick visit. They measured my belly, which was measuring 33 weeks and then we talked for a few minutes. Then it was time for a Non-Stress Test. Luckily, the little peanut was a champ and passed the NST within the 20 minute required time. So, the appointment that I thought was going to take forever only took an hour or so!
- July 5: Second NST of the week. I was in and out within a half hour - she was a rock star!
35 Weeks: Going through bottles of tums at a time :). Breathing is proving to be somewhat difficult because I have little baby parts lodged in ribs and whatnot, but again, overall, I would say I am feeling great! Haven't started waddling yet and my weight has actually stood still for awhile now. I mostly feel like I am all belly, which I guess is good for the rest of my body, but not so good for my breathing!
- July 8: Had our second BPP. Darin was able to come this time, but of course this time, little miss passed the BPP within minutes, so we didn't get to see her for very long! She was showing off her breathing skills as soon as the probe went on my belly! I asked B if she could see any hair since the old wives tale says heartburn = hair and that was certainly true with Big Brother! Pixie's head was snuggled up against something, so it was hard to see, but we could all definitely see a little halo of hair! Also, during the ultrasound, I kept jumping because I was getting poked in the ribs (and have been for awhile now). I was dying to know what was poking me, so B looked and it was a tiny baby bottom! Nothing like having a bottom in your ribs...except having feet in the other side of your ribs is pretty close!! She is just all kinds of spread out in there. I met with Dr. afterwards and he said everything looked perfect - she scored 8 out of 8 again! My belly measured 34 weeks, so still a week behind. I find this quite amusing since so many people tend to comment about how large my belly is! The little lady must have worn herself out though because she definitely took a snooze during the NST! But, overall, she did exactly what she was supposed to, so I really didn't have to stay much longer than the 20 minutes.
- July 11: Second NST of the week and I was again out of there within a half hour. She was a champ and did exactly what we needed her to do. Must have been the smoothie I was drinking! She has been such a good girl with all of this monitoring - fingers crossed it stays that way!!
Same thing next week - but I will also get another blood draw to check iron and other stuff. Can't believe how fast this is all going and that in less than 4 weeks, we will meet her. Excited is an understatement!
