My little peanut is growing up so fast!! It has been a hectic month trying to get used to being a family of four. But, it's been a fun ride. Exhausting, but fun! As always, I am going to mention how I would love it if life had a pause button. I am just trying to cherish every moment because I know all too well how fast this goes. You give us a run for our money, but I love that you have such a little personality already at only 1 month old. I am definitely curious to see how that personality develops as you grow!
There is not a lot to report since the last post, but there are a few updates.
- You weigh 10 pounds 4 ounces with clothes on and fully fed and are roughly 22 inches long. Holy growth spurt. Apparently, milk does do a body good!
- You still fit into newborn diapers, but we are in size 1s because they fit better and that's what we have in stock at the Weber house! Newborn sleepers are not long enough anymore, but you look silly in 3 month clothes because they are so big. Even some of the 0-3 month sleepers swallow you. So, you are wearing a lot of newborn dresses and rompers (and onesies for bumming around the house!).
- Your cord finally fell off last week. Took a little over 3 weeks.
- I swear I got a real, genuine smile out of you on 9/6. It was a wide, open mouth smile and you did it twice. I am going to consider that your first smile :). And, I got video of one!
- You are an extremely quiet sleeper. Your brother breathed loudly, so I could always hear him. You, on the other hand, are silent, except for some squeaks and grunts here and there. You will make pterodactyl noises every once in awhile - just like Jameson used to! It's so cute and makes me giggle. I sometimes get a little nervous if I haven't heard you for awhile and will do a quick check on you...I know, I am slightly neurotic!
- You are also very moody when you are tired! Man, you can wail! As I said in the last post, it's like you just want to give one final effort to stay awake, so you just scream at us! It's not just at night anymore either - you do it during the day sometimes too. But, whatever it takes to get you to sleep for 3-5 hours, so be it!
- With that said, sleeping at night is still all over the place, but we typically get anywhere from 3-5 hours the first stretch (in your bassinet) and then I feed you and you typically will go back to sleep. Lately, we have both been falling asleep while feeding and I will wake up a few hours later and you are still peacefully sleeping. One night, I think you slept soundly on me for 4 hours! But, you do really well in your bassinet, so I need to be better about staying awake :).
- Still not taking a pacifier. I know I will be happy in the long run, but I really kind of wish you would take one! I think we would all be happier!
- You are definitely very alert when you are awake. You look around a lot when you are awake and it seems like you are taking it all in. You like to look out the windows and you fixate on people. I love when you just stare at me. I could stare into those blue eyes for hours!
- You love to watch your brother too - and you really seem to hone in on him when he lays by you. It's adorable.
- You still hiccup and sneeze a lot!
- You get to spend some good quality time with Gma Kim and Gma Debbie while I take your brother to preschool - you seem to enjoy getting some Gma snuggles!
- You also like to rock on Ray's legs like he used to do with his own children and every one of his grandkids! He can put you to sleep!
- You can move your head from side to side and are actually pretty good at sitting up (with pillows of course). You were sitting in the chair with Daddy and you actually turned your head around to look at pictures on the wall. It was nuts! Strong little peanut!
- You are such a snuggler when you are asleep. I love it...you like to curl up on me and it's such a wonderful feeling. I get nothing accomplished...but, I don't care one bit.
Lots of pictures from the last 10 days (shocking!).
