2 Months!!

Little Miss is 2 months old! Another busy month in the books and I wish it would slow down just a little bit! But, I am loving watching my sweet little peanut's personality develop. There is nothing quite like eliciting a huge smile the second I start talking to her! She really is such a good and happy baby. Still dramatic and fussy at times, but what baby isn't?! Overall, she seems to enjoy her little life and we all just love her beyond words!
*********************************************************************************

Spending the last two months with you has been amazing. Some nights, we will go in your room and listen to lullabies on Pandora while we rock - I look forward to it every night. It sometimes brings me to tears (shocking!) because it is just so peaceful and so perfect with you in my arms. I think back to when I did that with Jameson and cannot believe how fast it went. So, I am relishing every second. Besides having your brother in there to rock too, I cannot think of anything else more peaceful and fulfilling. Some of the best moments of motherhood are the ones where no words are spoken. Where you just sit and feel the love between you and your child. It's simply amazing. I love you so, my little rainbow. You truly make my world brighter.

OK, onto the good stuff!
  • You weighed in at 11 pounds 13 ounces this morning. We measured informally and you were about 23.5 inches!
  • You are in 0-3 months clothes or just 3 month stuff for the most part. You are pretty long and the 0-3 onesies just aren't cutting it anymore!
  • Still in size 1 diapers. May be moving on up soon!
  • You are so strong. You get a hold of something and it's tough to pry your hands off of it...I will be surprised if I have any hair left on my head by the time you are 3 months old! You are also very good at sitting up (with help of course). You have great head control.
  • You are definitely crying real tears now. You've actually been doing this since you were like 4-5 weeks, but I forgot to post it last time. And, you didn't put on the waterworks quite like you do now!
  • Daddy gave you your first bottle of pumped milk on 9/14 after bath. It's a little dicey some nights when he feeds you - you will scream at him for a bit, but eventually drink the milk. You are only taking about 2-3 ounces right now because I usually feed you again before bed. The bottle is just for practice and to get you all good and full before bed :).
  • You typically take a little pre-bedtime nap for about an hour or so. Wake up and are ready to party for awhile (sometimes party = screaming!), eat and then will go back down for the night. I am hoping we can maybe either push that nap up an hour or so or just get rid of it because sometimes it is after 11 before you fall back asleep. You little night owl!
  • You are the loudest self soother! Most nights, you are out cold when we lay you down for the night, but some nights, you self "soothe" yourself and it's hilarious. I often laugh because you are so noisy and it goes on for a good 15 or so minutes!
  • You are sleeping through the night, woo hoo!! I am knocking on wood as I type this, but you consistently sleep 6-8 hours a night. We have the occasional off night where you may only go 4 hours for the first stretch, but it's not typical anymore. Most nights, you sleep 7ish hours the first stretch, wake up to eat and get a quick diaper change and then you're back down for another 2-3 hours. Praying this keeps up!
  • Your napping is a bit hard to figure out. Some days, you will take one really long nap (2-3.5 hours) and then catnap throughout the day. Some days, you will just catnap all day.  Some days, it seems like you sleep all day. And, then of course we have to have the one day thrown in where you barely nap at all! However, for the most part, you nap pretty well ...sometimes it just has to be in my arms and nowhere else or you won't sleep long. Bummer ;).
  • You are such a smiley little baby! And, you have a DIMPLE, yay!! It's crazy because during our ultrasound at Little Wonders on my birthday, the ultrasound tech said that she thought she saw a dimple. I wasn't sure how you could make out a dimple in all the weird textures, but she was right!!  It's on your right cheek!
  • You have started "talking". I LOVE this. I forgot how much I love this. It is so incredibly adorable and I just love listening to you "growl" and talk to me and everyone else. You get so excited and sometimes pant like a little puppy and then you will just tell all kinds of stories! So heartwarming!
  • You are a morning person - you are sooo happy in the morning and it is so wonderful to see you smile and talk to me.
  • You still love to stick out your tongue. It's too cute, especially when mixed in with an adorable smile!
  • You also love to blow bubbles!!
  • You have started "clicking" with your mouth. It's pretty funny.
  • You love bath time, but man, you hate getting out of the bath! You just wail!!!
  • You have "ham and cheese" skin. This is what we used to call my friend's (Liz Jackson) skin - when you get cold, your skin gets blotchy. It also makes for beautiful skin complexion - I am quite jealous that you have such pretty coloring!
  • You still hate pacifiers. You sometimes will take one in the car if I am sitting in the back with you. But, most of the time, you look at me like I am trying to stick a lemon in your mouth!!
  • You love looking at ceiling fans and out the window. You get entranced!
  • You finally like your bouncer and swing, yay! We will put you in your bouncer while we eat dinner and you end up being pretty content the whole time! You like to talk to the bugs on the bouncer, just like your brother used to!
  • You follow voices and hand movements now! You have been able to move your head when people talked to you, but now you actually follow us as we move and talk. It is so heartwarming to see your eyes completely focus on me when I am near you.
  • You also discovered your feet, so those keep you entertained for awhile! I love watching you follow them while you move them.
  • You also move your little feet when you nurse. It's so sweet and I love it.
  • Your big brother loves you  very much - you are very lucky! He is constantly kissing you and trying to make you smile!
  • You are so sweet and cuddly...I love spending my afternoons cuddling you while your brother sleeps. My happy place :).

And, she needed more snuggles from Gma when she got home!

She loves to hold hands!

This was taken one night while we were listening to lullabies in her room.
So peaceful and brought tears to my eyes. I know these moments are fleeting and
I cherish them all.
