1/3 of the way to 1...holy cow! We had another fun month that just flew by. Gwendolyn is changing so quickly and sometimes it is hard to keep up! She is definitely developing her little personality and becoming so much more aware of the world around her. I love this stage - even though I miss that newborn stage, I love watching her develop into a little person!
- You weigh roughly 16 pounds. One day, you were 15lbs 8oz and the next you were 16 and then the next you were 15lbs 7oz. So, again, we will just go with something between 15.5-16. You are 26ish inches!
- You are in size 2 diapers still and pretty much wearing all 6 month clothes.
- You are still sleeping in our room...I am preparing myself because I think that is probably going to change very soon.
- And, of course after I bragged in the last post about you sleeping well, the 4 month sleep regression reared its ugly head! There were a few nights where you were waking up once, maybe even twice a night. And, some nights it was so hard to get you down and it was 11 or midnight before you fell asleep for the night. Luckily, it seems to have subsided and you either sleep through most of the night or only wake up once around 4 or 5. Let's hope that 4 month regression stays far far away from you!!
- Naps are still all over the place. Some days you sleep like a log and other days, we cannot lay you down at all or you will wake up 10-15 minutes later. You seem to nap the best in someone's arms!
- BIG NEWS - you like bottles now!!! Woo hoo! Thank goodness! We tried the Playtex Drop-ins and it took a day or so, but you finally took one and now it's like we never had an issue. Gma Kim warmed the nipple one day and you took it like a champ and have never looked back! You also like to try and hold your own bottle!
- You will also take a plug here and there. You usually spit it out shortly after you fall asleep, but sometimes it calms you down before naps so we have been giving you one.

You love giving kisses. OK, it is more like an open mouth slobber suck, but adorable nonetheless! You also give hugs - I swear you wrap your little hands around someone's face and squeeze!
You also love to be hugged and kissed. And, you are definitely not deprived of them. At all. I probably kiss you a thousand times a day and I know I am not the only one!
You like to blow raspberries and love to get them on your tummy!
You have been "talking" for awhile now, but it seems that you have definitely found your voice! You like to squeal quite loudly now!
- You have started doing this hilarious pout face! It's not just your normal little pouty lip...it's an extreme pout face! Adorable and so funny!
You are so good at picking up things. You like to pick things up and put them in your mouth.
You can also switch things from hands. Very impressive!!
You just love to kick! You are definitely a mover!
We sat you in your high chair for dinner one night because you always seemed so far away when you were in your bouncer while we ate. You loved being part of the "party" and now we do it for every meal.
You also watch us very closely as we eat and follow the food as we eat! Some might say that means you may be ready for solids, but I am going to hold off for a few more months.
With that said, you are still 100% on milk. No issues with nursing thus far!
You are so very alert and aware of things around you. I am quite impressed by you. You just watch everything and move your head and try to move your body as you watch everything/everyone. It is pretty cool to watch you - it is like you take in everything!
You love watching sports. I remember this with Jameson too. I don't know what it is - maybe the movement or colors, but you just lock in when football and basketball is on TV.
You love Hoyt! Daddy and I think you two are going to be best buddies. It is so cute watching you two interact.
You really like to face outward when people are holding you - you don't want to miss a thing!
You love being snuggled. Gma Debbie got a baby carrier so you could be "held" all day since that's what you prefer :). Since you like to be facing out, the carrier is perfect. And, luckily both of your grandmas love to snuggle you in the afternoon while Jameson naps.
When you snuggle, you like to be touching skin - you will always put your hand in the neck of our shirts or somewhere so that you can feel our skin. It's so cute!
You are definitely ticklish! I get these hilarious squeals out of you when I tickle you!
I also got my first string of giggles out of you and it was one of the best sounds ever!!! I just love baby giggles!
- You seem to like being startled, which is typically what elicits the laughs! Cracks us up!
- I mentioned your fake coughing last time - you are still doing this and it's so funny!
- Luckily, you love getting out of the bath now. It is like a complete 180 from a month ago! I even get you smiling so big when I pull you out!
However, you definitely don't love getting dressed after bath! You usually get a little mad still!
You tried your Jumperoo for the first time and seemed to enjoy it. You definitely don't like to stay in it too long, but I think that's partly because you are still pretty little and we have to prop your feet with a pillow. I am sure once you can reach the ground, you will love it!
You are so dang happy! Honestly, your smile can light up a room. It can change anyone's mood to happy instantly. Sometimes you smile so big I think you might just burst! We all find it so endearing.
However, you get equally unhappy! There are still moments where we think something may be wrong with you because you get so upset sometimes! You still hate going to sleep most of the time, so you will just wail and wail until you finally fall asleep. But, usually you are only upset when you are hungry or tired, so it's an easy fix...otherwise, you are so very content and happy and it's extremely infectious!!

A year ago on December 3, I found out I was pregnant with what I prayed would be my rainbow baby.
As I held her a year later, I had no clue the extent of how much I needed her or how much I
could love her. She helped make me whole. |
